Muirfield Golf Course Scotland has been called home Edinburgh golfers. There is a record of a 1744 member's names and 13 members of the rules behind the door of the course. It is the honor of course for the golf club.
The fifth hole of the golf course has been moved in the 1836. While in 1891, the Old Course's ninth hole is now the current home hole. Muirfield is the only old golf course which hosted 15 Open, most recently in 2002. In addition, It also has hosted a number of amateur competitions and the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup Tournament and the Curtis Cup, children and so on.
As President of the Association and golf architect, Donald Steele has described Muirfield Golf Course "When you ask a golf player who has played with their golf clubs which is the most classic of course, they may have many strange answers. However, Muirfield is eternal, they will not hesitate to choose this course, and this is the most interesting places. Each time you play golf will have different feelings. Although personal preference is different and there are many factor determining their preferences, there is no objection that the Muirfield has many advantages as truly classic course. "
